Song of Wata Progress and Ramadan Mubarak
Hello all,
Ramadan is tomorrow, so I will spend today decorating and planning a menu with my family in preparation.
I look forward to volunteering in the community and serving food, but also to just soaking in the Ramadan energy, as this is an abundant time of blessings. I'd like to set a goal to read one of the 99 names of Allah during Ramadan and make a piece of art around it or a one-panel comic as a way to reflect on the name.
Lastly, the margin notes for Song Of Wata are going really well. I jumped off of it in November to recover from an autistic and mental burnout, but now I am back and realize how welcoming and fun the script is, even in its current state.
There is so much to explore in Kowry with Nini and Sela and their vast adventures. At some point, I will make it a kids' version so that it's less graphic with mature themes, but it's still something young kids can appreciate.
I have some art and poems that I will be publishing in a few formats at the end of the month and through the coming quarter. I am excited to share all my art poems and observational writing with you as I am on my healing journey this year.
Make sure to follow Cool Storytellers Lounge on Instagram, my arts and writing education business. I have many tips on making comics and telling stories, and I teach artists and creatives how to teach and make money in their communities, hybrid and online.
Salaam and Ramadan Mubarak,
Nadia
